This work takes inspiration from the Azalea Bushes and Dogwood Trees that bloom for just around two weeks in NE Oklahoma in the Spring. It is my favorite time of year at Woodward Park because you can walk amongst the blooms as they surround you at every viewpoint.

I experimented with a method of overlaying two images to use as my reference photo for the original painting to capture both the Micro and Macro information of the place. Together the new image created whimsical sunspots, distant trees, and blooming azaleas up close.
